How can I pre-book shore excursions?
Each cruise line offers a wide range of shore excursions to help you make the most of your time ashore. Most cruise operators will send you details of available shore excursions approximately seven to ten weeks before departure. It is recommended that you reserve your preferred excursions in advance of sailing directly with your cruise operator, either by post, over the phone or online by visiting their website.

How do I decide which shore excursion to go for?
Choosing a shore excursion is a pleasurable experience but it can often get quite complicated due to the great range of choice that cruise operators now provide for each port of call. It is important to make a note of the attractions that you wish to prioritise most of all for your visit to each destination. Once you have decided this, it makes it easier to narrow down the ideal choice of excursion for you. Family excursion opportunities are also growing in popularity and choice, therefore these can often be ideal for keeping the younger guests happy.
Excursion options are available to view online with most cruise operators by accessing your booking using your name and booking reference. Should you have any problems at all with this you can always contact your Bolsover Cruise Club consultant for advice or alternatively contact the operator direct by phone as most cruise lines are able to take excursion bookings over the phone for you. Where we can assist online we will always do so but are unable to book anything direct for you as this needs to be done by the passenger not the agent. The online tools provide an easier way to choose your ideal excursion for each port and offers all the information you will need including the duration of each trip and the level of activity required. These kinds of facts are helpful when deciding if the excursion is appropriate for all members of your party.
I have limited mobility, will I still be able to book excursions?
Yes - all cruise lines offer a wide range of excursion options. Each excursion will often be accompanied by symbols detailing the appropriateness for individuals with mobility concerns. Many cruise lines highlight specific tours that are of 'low activity'.
Can I do more than one excursion on the same day?
Yes this is possible to do in many destinations around the world but it will depend on the cruise line and the timings of the excursions. At Bolsover Cruise Club we highly recommend ensuring you have enough time between multiple excursions in order to get the most from your time in port. Most cruise lines advise leaving approximately 45 minutes to a 1 hour between two excursions just in case of any delays. Excursions could be delayed for any number of reasons such as traffic congestion in large cities, immigration control delays, or due to waiting for late passengers to return. Be sure to consider these factors when planning your port days.
