Yes , but some cruises cover you if you take there tours, check with your agent who youve booked with and they will see if yours is covered or not by this   :)

You do need a visa but all of those other companies who organise smaller, private 1/2 day trips around St Petersburgh can sort it for you too.Don't be put off by cruise companies making it look as if you have to go on their ship tours only - not true!

yes, but the ships tour will include that in the cost....you have that all done for you....it's lovely there do take the evening tour to the Hermitage expensive but so memorable....so glad we took the advise to do it....you really have a private tour...

We used a group called Red October when we first visited St Petersburg...they were amazing and organised visas and the itinerary we wanted over our two day stay. It was about £500 for 3 of us in a private car with guide but money well spent as we never had to queue at the palaces and we got to see everything

We toured with Alla tours in St Petersburg this September.

A full on 2 day tour in a small group, the guide spoke excellent English.

It cost us £368 for the 2 of us including the visa.
