Best Cruise Line For A Bali / Malaysia Cruise?

7 posts in this topic

Good morning,

I'm wanting to start looking into a Far East cruise possibly Oct-Dec time next year, however i'm not sure which would be the better cruise line to travel with to this region? I have no specific requirements although i'd quite like to take in Bali, Penang and Singapore, maybe a hotel stay in singapore at the beginning or end of the cruise.

So far ive found the princess cruises brochure to be the most enticing but I'm open to suggestions, so if anyone has sailed around this area and has any recommendations I would be most grateful.

Thanks

Hi  Unfortunately there is no thing as the best cruise line, it all depends upon what your expectation are eg formal or party atmosphere etc.  On the downside most cruise lines only sail around this area around Feburary to March so your choice will be limited in the times you mention.

There are some lovely cruises at this time.  My imagination gets the better of me sometimes as I'd love to travel to the places you have mentioned but as I've said a few times on this forum already, our holiday times are limited due to my wife working in a school.  There are some great itineraries around that time of year though.  You mentioned Princess, and their a line that always impress me with the choice of cruises available to far and wide destinations.  I looked at cruises that took in Bali for my honeymoon a year ago but I also see Princess are running these sailings again next year, only problem for you is, that in October they seem to head more for Australia, perhaps change your pre-cruise stay idea from Singapore to Sydney and you could be on to a winner.

Thank you for your replies. I've been doing a little digging around today and can see Celebrity cruises ship Millenium does a nice Indonesia & Malaysia Cruise in November next year. Has anyone sailed on the Millenium?

Cunard and P&O often touch the destinations you mention on their world cruises. Just a matter of picking up a segment that covers those ports that interest you.

We stayed in Singapore in March this year. Had a fabulous time in a fabulous hotel. I wrote a report for a travel site...

Whatever you choose, the Far East is a great cruise destination.

There are several cruise lines covering the area you want without having to do a world cruise segment. One at about the time you want is Royal Caribbean's ship Legend of the Seas which will be based in Singapore next year between June and September doing a variety of 10 night cruises. Costa, Celebrity, P&O Australia and several others all sail in the area you are looking at which would also allow you to have your hotel stay in Singapore. Would suggest you contact Bolsover and ask them to research it for you. Hope this helps.
