Holland America To Debut Single Cabins On New Cruise Ship

3 posts in this topic

Hi  The addition of single cabins is good news for solo cruisers (depending upon the price structure) but on the downside out of approx. 1200 cabins to being installed only twelve are designed for single occupancy (1% of the total).  This bears no relationship to the number of single people in the population.  Are cruise companies missing out of a marketing opportunity to encourage solo travellers to board their vessels or do they still use the outdated nuclear family to base their sales model on and refuse to admit that society has changed?

Its probably down to the economics for the company, without pushing up the prices for all due to an increase in solo capacity and also making the solo cabins such a high price, Your right though i think with the amount of single travellers around more could be done by all holiday companies to help them and not just in cruising
