12 posts in this topic

For all you young and old all romantics reading this, cupids annual day is fast approaching and the cost of Red Roses is set to escalate.  So for all the helpless fools out there that may need some inspiration, what is the most romantic thing you have ever done or the most romantic thing you have ever had done for you?

If that is not your thing, I am sure we must have some funny stories of disastrous dates or good intentions gone wrong that we can share, let be honest, on this forum your amongst friends you can tell us almost anything.

On the Brightside its pancake day on the 17th February for those that hate the thought of it. wub.png

Didn't know it was pancake day on the 17th. Better not tell my husband as he loves them and it's also our silver wedding anniversary. I was looking forward to something better than a pancake for dinner. We've both been married before and he says he's done two life sentences!

We don't bother with cards anymore and I can't see the sence of spending silly money on flowers when the day before and the day after they cost half the price. It's not that I'm not romantic or like getting flowers I just disagree with greed surrounding it all.

I shall however be making all my hubbys favourite things for dinner and we will crack open some champagne.

As for rubbish Valentine gifts, a past boyfriend who lived on a farm bought me a duffle coat so I could help him clear out the barn!!!

Not really into the 'off topic' subjects but I will say that for many years I thoroughly disliked Valentine's nights.

As an hotel and restaurant owner  Valentines nights saw a drop in profits as so many requests were for tables for two - almost halving the number of covers normally available..
