Msc Cruise Too Good To Be True?

6 posts in this topic

Sometimes I believe certain things are too good be true - what i've seems to fall into this category!

in April there's an MSC cruise going to Italy, malta etc lovely itinerary and the inside cabin is £399 each which apparantly includes free flights from London with British airways. Is this a con? Ive never sailed with MSC and i'm wondering if they're mega expensive once on board?

We were on the Magnifica last September and had a great cruise. I saw the latest offers from  MSC with free flights from London and phoned MSC to check about flying from regional airports and was very disappointed to be told we would have to pay an extra £300 each just to fly from Manchester or Birmingham. I was told that MSC have an arrangement with British Airways to fly from London airports. We were looking for "a bargain" for October/November/December and would have loved to go on MSC again but booked on Ventura instead in October. Needed a bargain as we are on Britannia in May and Magellan in July and an 18 night Caribbean early next year so I have had to implement Austerity Measures.

As to the cost of drinks, we had the All-inclusive Allegrissimo package (came free when we booked) and it was best drinks package we have ever had, it included specialist coffees, ice- cream, cocktails which sometimes you have to pay extra for. If memory serves me correctly it would have been about 23 Euros per person per day or thereabouts. The ice-creams alone were worth the money. Also if you purchase a drinks package you do not pay the 15% charge normally added to your bar bill.

I've never cruised with MSC so interesting to see the comments on this thread. The ships always look very impressive especially the Fantasia when we saw it on our latest holiday.

I am on MSC Fantasia over Xmas and New year. Back to back cruises. We also have the free drinks package. This will be our first time with this company and having looked at differing reviews am looking forward to finding out for myself.
