Msc Try To Break Into Us Market Again.

2 posts in this topic

The decision by MSC to return to the US market after "having their fingers burned", shows the lure of the large market to commercial organisations, and particularly in this case as US cruise ship profitability is lower than in the European market.

The new attempt will feature different menus (what's wrong with Italian food?), entertainment focused on US tastes, and generally a less Italian ship.

It may well be that they would do better keeping to Europe in the business area that they know, rather than enter these “shark infested waters”.

Given the “love of Italian food” in the north, Liverpool could yet “charm the Latins”.

Hi  I would be good if they sailed from a non southern based port but unfortunately this is highly unlikely.  On a more positive note they did offer some great deals to the Caribbean - the cheapest I saw was £699 for a 11 night cruise including flights.  As they say have said the USA passengers didn't book with them with any great enthusiasm.  It's a very competitive market in the USA and MSC will have to up their game but we could benefit again if this doesn't occur.
