Flying Scotsman

6 posts in this topic

Definitely one for Rob Bar this, Flying Scotsman today made its 1st long awaiting journey after its rebuild from Kings Cross to York, passing through Doncaster where it was originally built. The iconic British locomotive has seen record crowds out to see the event and I'm sure the media will be covering this in the news later.

You cannot beat the sight of a steam train on the tracks, not only is it a part of railway history but a part of historic heritage. A shame that those folk who waited for it only to see the diesel train go past. Ironically enough it has just been repeated on the local news….. lol.

Awful for those who missed it due to traffic the other way, it reminds me that my dad always used to say to me ' go to the station and stand on the footbridge, yes you get a face full of soot but its worth it!!!'
