Cruise styles - River versus Ocean Cruises

4 posts in this topic

Hi   The river cruise market is growing at a high rate and offer the more experienced cruisers the option of visiting many new ports of call.  Many on the forum and previously said they wished that ocean cruise ships would visit a wider variety of new destinations.  Would like to go on a river cruise or do prefer the variety of dining options and entertainment offered on ocean going vessels?

Love to try a river cruise, but we still have a teenager in tow and think he would find the onboard activities are very limited. As soon as it is just me and the Missus, we will definitely give it a go.

For my family it probably would not be the ideal choice right now for us but I would definitely like to try a river cruise at some point. I think a week would be enough but the Danube, Rhine and Douro would all be tempting. If money was no object then it would be with Crystal River Cruises as they look lovely.
