Celebrity Eclipse onboard account scam

6 posts in this topic

We returned from a cruise in June, we had a drinks package with the company and the only time we used our account was

to book a bus ride to the airport.

On our return our credit card had been charged an extra $110.00 for use in the casino on the very last night.  My husband and i never

use the casino.  Getting no joy from celebrity aftersales.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Good advice OWT, if you have a disputed transaction and you are not getting any joy then get in touch with them to persue it on your behalf, Celebrity would need to provide proof of you signing for the casino credit

Not with Celebrity, but I have had similar experiences with both P&O and Princess. And in all cases, whether I was onboard when I discovered the incorrect charges, or the one time I didn't realise until we were home, I was able to get this resolved very quickly directly with the cruise line.

If I hadn't managed to do that though, I would have gone to my credit card company next as advised above. Good lick, hope you get it sorted quickly.

If you contact you CC company they will put a hold on your card as 'in dispute' in effect this means you don't have to pay it and while it is in dispute no charges will accrue (although this only applies to the transaction in question )  they will take the payment back from Celebrity so the onus will then be upon them to prove the charge relates to you.

I would be very surprised if it is a scam it is more likely to be human error and someone has entered a wrong digit, it's a while since I was on Celebrity but I assume you still sign for everything so unless they've got your signature on a slip they will have to refund it.
