P&O New Ship Will Be Called ?

36 posts in this topic

At a trade event last night P&O Cruises announce that the new ship to be launched in 2020, will be named by one of us their guests.

So over to you what suggestions do you have?

i honestly couldnt guess, what i do think though is that it wont be named after an old ship, it seems that it is going to be very different to the rest of the fleet so maybe somthing completely new, but possibly still british?

I've just spent the last 10 minutes crying with laughter at some of the suggestions on the P&O twitter feed (although some are more than a little inappropriate). Looks like Cruisy McCruiseFace is the current favourite, got to be a little careful with Shippy McShipFace though ahem...

They will not let the public choose the name just let you think you have like everything else P&O do and change for the worse they say " its what the customer wants from our feedback".

Not a bad shout Jacz keeps with the A theme which they love, although a return of Canberra as suggested by OWT would be a strong contender, How about Athena ??

With 5200 passengers, I won't be either... it looks dreadful in my opinion.

I have cruised on ships from 35000 tonnes and 670 passengers all the way, so far, up to Britannia at 145000 toones and over 3600 passengers, and the differences are minimal, so why so many people complain so bitterly about large ships is beyond me.

I am just reading an Aussie ladies blog about her current cruise experiences from Navigator through Harmony up to Anthem, currently she is on Harmony and her reviews of all the many and varied activities, multiple dining choices and spectacular shows is making me very envious.

As we no longer fly and only cruise from Southampton I am just hoping that RCI might be deploying one of its largest ships in the UK sometime before we are too old to cruise.
