Cruise of the Week

14 March 2013

Finding the right cruise at the right time can be harder than you think.  There are so many great cruise lines out there at the moment, each offering something different that it can be difficult to narrow it down to the one that’s right for you.  Even when you have managed to select a cruise line that interests you then you have the next stage of deciding upon the cruise ship you would like to sail aboard and where you would like to sail to.  We experience these kinds of dilemmas with our clients every single day and it’s our job to take the stress away and look after the hard parts for you.  Nobody wants booking a holiday to feel like a chore, it’s a good thing and something that should be cherished not become a hassle.  This is...

Family Cruising Aboard P&O Cruises Azura

13 March 2013

I have just returned from a wonderful 13-night cruise aboard P&O Cruises Azura and can’t wait to share my thoughts with you. Travelling as a family of three (our son is 3 years old) we chose to sail on Azura above all other ships due to her family-friendly nature, childrens clubs / splash pools, and the flexibility of ‘Freedom’ dining, meaning we could eat as and when we wanted on our own table. The fact that she was a brand spanking new ship sealed the deal for us too. We also wanted to avoid the hassle of an airport (my husband isn’t the most patient man in the world) so opted for a ‘no-fly’ cruise leaving Southampton. This worked very well as without the strict luggage allowances of an airline we could take as much luggage as would comfortably fit in our cabin (and...

Looking for something different?

13 March 2013

We often have clients calling our office in search of a new adventure, something different, unique, maybe something they wouldn’t normally look at but fancy a change.  This could be you.  You maybe sat at home thinking, I’ve done most things, I’ve cruised the Mediterranean and I’ve seen the Baltic Capitals, I just want something different.  Well what you might be missing is the rest of Europe and the world.  We say this because as you are probably aware most cruise ships these days are unable to head off the beaten track therefore tend to stick to coastal city ports of call for example Barcelona, however, there is a big wide world out there and with this blog we intend to tell you all about it.    Many of the world’s most exciting and attractive cities lay within easy reach...

Lets talk shore excursions

13 March 2013

Shore excursions: Shall I book one?  Shall I not?  Is it better to go ashore independently? Where are the best places to visit on an excursion?  These are all questions that many people ask in the run up to travelling on a cruise.  These are common, regular questions and we understand the need to ask them because the truth is unless you’ve done it, you don’t know, so not only are they good questions to ask, they’re important too as the answers can save you both time and money, something we all would like a bit more of, especially in the current climate.   Shore excursions depend on many different factors as to the usefulness and appeal to each individual.  In truth there is no right or wrong answer to the aforementioned questions as it will depend wholeheartedly on the...

New cruise ships for 2013 2014 and 2015

13 March 2013

With so much focus on the brand new Titanic II of late paying homage to the past, we decided it was time to take a look the other way and see what the future holds for ocean cruising.  There are some breath taking construction projects taking place at the moment to lead ocean cruising into the next generation and we have to say we are certainly impressed by what’s to come.  With this in mind, let’s take a look at the projects currently in place.   First on the list is the third in the Oasis Class from Royal Caribbean due to arrive in 2016 and providing more facilities, entertainment and amenities than ever before.  This brand new ship to the Oasis Class is yet to be named but will certainly provide the wow factor with her stunning size and...

Live sport on board P&O and Cunard

13 March 2013

Sports fans will love the breaking news that P&O Cruises and Cunard Line will both soon feature a 24 hour live sports TV channel on board each ship in their fleets.  The new channel will be operated by IMG Media and will be aptly titled Sport24.    We all love going on holiday, especially when that holiday is a cruise, but for sports lovers out there it can be incredibly frustrating when it coincides with something you really want to see.  For some it can be terribly annoying to book a holiday and then find out it lands right in the middle of Wimbledon or you sail on the day of the FA Cup Final. Well, now you don’t even have to worry about it.  Gone are the days aboard P&O and Cunard of searching for reception on your mobile...

Star Clippers classic cruising

13 March 2013

Traditional sail ships are few and far between in the modern world of cruising but they are still out there and now they are better than ever.  Star Clippers are a prime example of this and this exceptional cruise line offers passengers something truly unique when it comes to getting away.  There are three different sail ships in the fleet known as the Star Clipper, Star Flyer and the largest of the three, the Royal Clipper.  All of these fantastic ships offer a throw back in time and the chance to experience cruising in a very different way to what we have all become accustomed to.  This method of sailing is a throwback to the classic sailing ships of the 19th century.  On board you are more likely to discover antique paintings and glamorous brass fittings than interactive televisions screens....

Adult Only Cruising

13 March 2013

With so much modern day emphasis on family friendly holidays, especially for cruising we decided it was time to take a closer look at the other side; the adult only side.  Family cruising is fantastic and the amount of ships offering innovative facilities these days is truly special, however there are many passengers out there looking for a holiday with a more exclusive feel to it; a holiday that takes things at a slower pace whilst still offering the chance to be active in exploring some excellent ports of call.  Many of our clients love the adult only cruise options for the chance to get away and completely relax, to enjoy the peace and quiet and to simply recharge.  Therefore it’s important to acknowledge the beauty of adult only cruising as well as holidays for families.    If you’re looking...
