A Queen Mary 2 200th Transatlantic voyage special!

The Cunard Queen Mary 2 has been a spectacular ship ever since she first arrived on the scene following her christening in 2004.  At her launch she became the largest and longest passenger ship ever built and she remains the only vessel to continually sail routine transatlantic voyages between the United Kingdom and the United States.    A significantly special ship, Queen Mary 2 is the flagship ocean liner of Cunard and in 2014 she will celebrate her 10th birthday.  2014 will also be a special year for Cunard as the cruise line will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first sailing of the four funneled Aquitania, which sailed its very first voyage to New York in May 1914.   The video below celebrates the Queen Mary 2’s 200th transatlantic crossing.   For more information on this stunning cruise liner...

Celebrity Cruises mix it up!

Celebrity Cruises are ready to literally mix it up on board having announced the expansion of their cocktail assortments.  Already renowned for on board bar innovations such as Molecular and Martinis, Celebrity Cruises will now offer a brand new range of craft cocktail experiences developed through a recently formed alliance with famous cocktail makers Hawthorn Beverage Group, founded by the popular cocktail creator Josh Durr.  The new cocktail craft experience will feature no less than 30 new options available fleet wide.    Of course the cruise line will revolve all new craft cocktail innovations around the finest artisanal spirits but these will be carefully developed alongside the most sublime vintage style liqueurs and not forgetting the fresh ingredients and organic juices.  The cruise line will also include a great range of non-alcoholic options known as the “Zero-Proof” line up and these...

Lets play the name game with P&O Cruises!

The eagerly anticipated arrival of the new P&O Cruises ship is still some distance away but what we are edging closer by the day to the announcement of its name.  There have been many guesses and suggestions but it remains to be seen whether P&O will look towards their history and heritage for the new ships title or air on the side of something new and fresh.  The new ship will launch in 2015 and is expected to reach a cost of approximately £490 million.  With a passenger occupancy of 3,600 guests, the new ship will instantly become the largest in the fleet and is the largest ship ever to be developed specifically for the British market.  She will follow the same hull design plan as the brand new Royal Princess, recently unveiled during a superb inaugural celebration at the port...
