The tagline reads ‘Simply Divine’. The statement from Fincantieri’s Shipyard’s CEO, Giuseppe Bono, is that “this will be the best ship we have ever built”. The ship is Silver Muse.
When debuted in April 2017, Silver Muse will become the ninth ship in the six-star Silversea fleet. The ultra-luxury cruise line’s new flagship, in fact. Ambitions are high, with Chairman of Silversea, Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio offering an empowered statement of ambition for the vessel:
“We are creating the ultimate boutique ship at sea. Silver Muse isn’t trying to be the biggest, far from it, but we are aiming to deliver the finest tailor-made service on every continent. I can assure guests that they will be missing out if they don’t book a voyage on Silver Muse for 2017”
Here’s why we think Manfredi might just be right…
The Suite Life
Dressed in tones of cream, saffron, green and sienna. Spacious, contemporary and comfortable; a luxurious home from home, on the doorstep of which will arrive the world’s most amazing destinations.
Silver Muse will feature the highest number of large suites (Silver, Royal, Grand and Owner’s) of any ship in the Silversea fleet, including 34 Silver Suites across three top decks and a brand new two-bedroom Silver Suite configuration – 1,119 square feet of space that is set to appeal to friends and family looking to experience the Silversea difference together. Suites range in size from the Classic Veranda Suite at 387 square feet to the Owner’s Suite, offering ultimate spaciousness and comfort at 1,389 square feet, and 85% of suites feature a private veranda.
With nearly one crew member per guest, you’re promised intuitive and uncompromised service. You’ll receive the same from your own personal Butler too.
The Finer Dining
With eight restaurants set to feature on board, Silver Muse will offer more dining options than any other ultra-luxury ship. La Grande Dame is the star of the show, its menu carefully crafted by the chefs of the world-renowned gourmet guild, Relais & Châteaux. This is cuisine comparable to that eaten in the finest restaurants on dry land, only here it is served with an ever-changing backdrop and the white-gloved service that offers a gentle nod to the traditions of fine dining.
The ‘Simply Divine’ Destinations
Departing Monte Carlo on 20 April 2017, Silver Muse’s 13-day maiden voyage will show guests a Mediterranean as beautiful as the ship itself. Enjoy afternoon tapas on the terraces in Barcelona, explore the historic Maltese fortress city of Valetta and sail the aquamarine waters of the Amalfi Coast. Experience ‘la bella vita’ as the sun sets, with an overnight stay in Sorrento, before experiencing the intoxicating combination of fine wine, authentic tapas and live jazz on an evening stay in Nice.
The Exclusive Excursions
Silversea’s ‘Exclusively Yours’ excursions are renowned for offering luxury cruisers the most exclusive access and experiences possible in the world’s most impressive destinations, and those offered as part of Silver Muse’s maiden voyage are amongst the best.
Lunch at La Bastide de Moustiers by Helicopter
Depart Monaco via private helicopter and embark on a scenic 30 minute flight to the foothills of the French Alps and the sweeping Les Gorges du Verdon. Land in the pretty mountain village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, home of La Bastide de Moustiers. Set amidst the olive trees and lavender hills, the restaurant was opened in 1994 by the legendary Alain Ducasse – one of just two chefs ever to acquire 21 Michelin stars and currently heading operations at his namesake three-time Michelin starred restaurant in The Dorchester.
Private Driving Tour of Florence
Let your English-speaking guide take you on a private tour of fabulous Florence, one of Europe’s most beautiful, artistic and historic cities. See the works of Medici, Michelangelo, Donatello and Machiavelli, visit the Uffizi Gallery or gaze dumfounded at the spectacular Baroque ceilings that have decorated Pitti Palace since the 1600s. Enjoy authentic Tuscan fare of meats, cheeses, bread and gelato galore, before exploring frescoed chapels or the churches of Santa Maria Novella, Santa Croce and San Lorenzo.
Helicopter Adventure and the Isle of Capri
Depart Sorrento helicopter terminal and fly along the stunningly beautiful Amalfi Coast; steep cliffs rising alongside you and iconic multi-coloured abodes clinging to the hillsides. Fly over the towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum, both of which were destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
You’ll land in Capri, taking a private transfer to the Blue Grotto boat deck, where your private rowing boat will take you deep inside the famous cavern. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at the 5* Grand Hotel Quisisana, an establishment that has been visited by poets and politicians, rock stars and royalty over its 150 year history. After a guided stroll of the Augustus Gardens and time to shop Capri’s luxury boutiques, it’s time to depart the Marina Grande by jetfoil for the 30 minute return trip to Sorrento. Heaven!
