Queen Mary 2’s 200th Transatlantic Crossing will commence on 6 July 2013 for a 7 night eastbound sailing. Alongside the usual entertainment programme on board, there will be a whole host of special guest speakers on board to celebrate this fantastic occasion. One of the speakers will be none other than Stephen Payne (image right), the lead designer of the Queen Mary 2 and once President of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. He has received many honours for services to shipping including an OBE and appointment as a Royal Designer of Industry. Stephen will be a fascinating guest speaker on board. Other special guest speakers include “Mr Ocean Liner” himself Bill Miller, the man behind over 70 books about passenger ships, both past and present, BBC News presenter Nicholas Owen, master of current astronomical concepts Mark Butterworth and military historian Nigel West. During the 200th crossing Queen Mary 2 will also host a fantastic collection of musical festivities from the word renowned Julliard School of Dance, Drama and Music.
