The MS Kong Harald is named after the King of Norway and also pays homage to many other famous Norwegians on board. The bar on board is named after Nobel Peace Laureate, the Norwegian polar pioneer Firdtjof Nansen, and the café is named after explorer Roald Amundsen.
The ship was launched in 1993 alongside MS Richard With to mark the centenary of Hurtigruten.
