Locally Sourced Ingredients

Dining is a relaxed affair on board and the main restaurant of Stjernesalen is all about simply enjoying locally sourced, fresh cuisine amongst friends. The restaurant is set in an ideal location to enjoy remarkable views whilst you dine. Elsewhere on board there is the separate a la carte restaurant and café for guests to enjoy.

Lecture Talks and Cultural Enrichment

After a long day of various excursions and activities, guests are invited to relax in one of the comfortable reclining chairs in one of the ship’s lounges known as Sirius and Orion. With panoramic windows that offer sweeping sea views, there is no better place than here to watch the world go by.

As with all Hurtigruten vessels, it’s all about cultural enrichment and the lecture talks that take place on board. MS Nordlys has her own on board Expedition Team who will host lecture programmes and evening gatherings daily, and out on deck you can learn more about the nature and culture you encounter on your cruise. The Knut Hamsden Library is always a popular place to visit whilst the café makes for a great meeting point for new and old friends.

The Northern Lights

To discover the wondrous sights of the Northern Lights, there is nothing like an experience aboard MS Nordlys. The spectacular natural wonder of the Aurora Borealis is visible in the waters she sails through between October and March. Predominantly green with occasional flames of red, such an experience will leave you with memories to last a lifetime and this experience is MS Nordlys specialty.
