MS Nordnorge

MS Nordnorge is aptly named for Northern Norway and spends the majority of her time cruising the remarkable scenery of the Arctic Circle. This wonderful expedition ship was constructed in 1997 and is the second ship Hurtigruten have built to hold this name.

Arctic-inspired Interior

MS Nordnorge has recently been refurbished with modern and Artic-inspired interior where the colours are earthy and pulled in from the coast of the sea, with many natural materials used throughout including wood, slate and leather. MS Nordkapp also boasts a Jacuzzi on her open deck, three different restaurants, Multe bakery and ice cream bar, plus a sauna and fitness room.

Take Part In `Friluftsliv´ Activities

Mainstream entertainment is very limited and you are more likely to discuss whale watching experiences than find a glamorous production show on board. The Expedition Team on board will host lecture programmes and evening gatherings daily, making your cruise not only an exciting one but an educational one too. The Expedition Team will also introduce you to the Norwegian notion of `friluftsliv´, a word coined for ‘free air life’, encouraging guests to take part in `friluftsliv´ hikes and activities.

There is a comfortable bar at the front of the ship where you can enjoy a traditional drink. The Explorer Lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind whilst discussing the day’s explorations with like-minded passengers, plus the suitably located lounge also offers fantastic views thanks to the sloping windows. Why not take a seat out on the Explorer deck or opt to take in the views you sail past from one of the two Jacuzzis?

A Flavour of Norway

Cuisine on board revolves around Hurtigruten’s tradition of sourcing local produce to create exceptional dishes. Take your pick from one of MS Nordnorge’s three different restaurants, all of which can be found deck on 4. Dine in the main restaurant of Torget for breakfast, lunch and dinner, where large panoramic windows allow you to dine with magnificent views of the Arctic Circle, Greenland and much more. Make the most of Arctic fine dining in Kysten or opt to dine in the casual bistro of Brygga. After dinner, be sure to experience the Multe bakery and ice cream bar.
