Spirit of the Danube is a purpose-built river ship, like her sister ship Spirit of the Rhine. She offers the same levels of comfort, services, and experience, with the addition of the latest engine technology to reduce emissions significantly.
Designed and built specifically for their guests, Spirit of the Danube has inviting Panoramic windows with enhanced spaces, along with views from every public room and a large sun deck with a splash pool.
The river Danube passes through 10 countries including Austria, Hungary, and Romania and with every excursion included. Their collection of cruises showcases the Danube’s finest sights, famous cities, as well as taking you to the lesser-known ports, whilst flowing past some of the most dramatic and varied scenery in Europe.

The land that brought Albert Einstein and Beethoven is Germany. Discover opulent palaces, alpine peaks, and atmospheric castles. This magnificent country offers charming cities that line the banks of the river Rhine as it curves its way through the sweeping countryside. Approach Berlin and be pleasantly greeted with poignant history, a modern-day playground for artists and musicians.
Discover a country with rich culture, a home of Lipizzaner’s, lakes, and musical greats. Austria is a land of mountains, a land by the stream and fields of land of cathedrals. Whether you choose to go in the summer months or the winter, there is something to always take in. Embrace the festive spirits ashore in Linz, Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest, or spend a week in the alps, undulating summits, pristine lakes are just some of Austria’s charms. Explore Salzburg, visit the Krimml Waterfalls, and indulge in coffee and cake in Maria Alm.
Tucked right in the heart of Europe with no sea in sight is Slovakia. This tiny nation is no bigger than Belgium and has over 600 castles and chateaus. A fact – Did you know that Budapest in Hungary has the most thermal springs of any capital in the world. Hungary is well placed at the centre of Europe and has an array of fascination land of music and history. The mighty Danube divides ‘Buda’ and ‘Pest’ as it flows on towards the Black Sea. The food and wine here is a joy to indulge in, delicious fluffy plum dumplings and the intense savoury goulash is a must try.
Romania is bold and exhilarating, one of Europe’s most fascination countries with dramatic landscapes aplenty. Medieval castles amongst the Carpathian Mountains to the Iron Gates of the Danube. Transylvania is stocked with imposing castles on cliff faces – including the famous chez Dracula, otherwise known as Bran Castle.

All cabins on Spirit of the Danube are modern and contemporary, with an en-suite bathroom and shower. Lower deck cabins feature a small window, whereas cabins on Middle and Upper decks have French balconies. There are also 12 single cabins designated for solo passengers.
Enjoy exquisite, freshly prepared meals that the chef’s source their ingredients locally and will be produced to you in the Panorama Restaurant. For lunch and dinner, it will be waiter service, and for breakfast you will have the freedom of the buffet-style dining. For a more intimate experience, the Delta restaurant is a speciality and is at no extra cost, a great way to celebrate something special.
