Cruise & Maritime Voyages specialise in no fly-cruise holidays that offer a leisurely and ‘home-from-home’ style of cruising for a more traditional British cruise experience. The cruise lines smaller mid-sized ships are accessible to more ports of call than larger resort-style ships, offering more varied and interesting itineraries.

First time with CMV for us. We undertook a 15 nights cruise on Magellan to the Canaries. It was the fact that the cruise departed from Liverpool that ultimately persuaded us to try out CMV Magellan. It is fairly old but the public spaces are nicely furnished. We particularly liked having evening drinks in either the Sinatra or Hampton bars. We also bought the CMV Drinks & Gratuities package which turned out to be amazingly...

Cruise & Maritime Voyages | Columbus Reviews

Embarkation at Tilbury was very smooth. Columbus is a mid-size older ship, but everything was in good shape. All the public rooms were clean and well decorated, the cabins, we had 2 cabins a standard inside and a superior single window cabin (actually a double for single occupancy) on deck 10, and both were clean and big with plenty of storage space and reasonable bathrooms. Cabin servicing was excellent. There were tea and coffee making...

We had a really enjoyable Canary Islands cruise on Columbus. We loved the ship, the old P&O Arcadia, especially the back decks and prom deck. The food in the main dining room was absolutely excellent and don’t know how they do it for the price. Entertainment was better than on other CMV ships that we have been on, not as polished as P&O and Cunard but very good talented singers and dancers. Our cabin was...

The 24 people in my group thought the cruise was excellent and could not be faulted in any way. The cabins, food, service and ports of call were absolutely first class. The entertainment was West End standard. We are now looking forward to visiting the Scottish Islands next July and have already booked.

Overall we were satisfied with the cruise, ports of call interesting although the location of our docking site not always the best, paying a little more, would have allowed us a better site and more attractive outlook? Who wants to eat their dinner whilst looking at a coal yard? The early sitting for dinner at 6.00. We found this to be too early, especially if we were interested in going to the show which did...
