Christmas Market Cruise
By Corinne Boocock on 01 January 2013
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

It was our first time with Cunard and a winter cruise(and mums first ever cruise) we went with the Children on a pre Xmas break. We have sailed with 3 other companies previously (Royal Caribbean, P&O & Princess) and I have to say all have their pros and cons. All I would say is that the Queen Victoria and her staff are 5*, the service was impeccable! The Christmas markets made us feel very excited...

Unsatisfactory boarding and disembarcation procedures
By Clive MATHESON on 20 November 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

My wife and I have recently returned from a cruise on the Queen Victoria. In general we were extremely satisfied with all aspects of the cruise except one. The boarding arrangements at Southampton were a disgrace. I am registered disabled and upon arrival joined a crowd of several hundred other passengers, many having to queue outside the building, attempting to book in. There were separate arrangements for disabled persons but I had to stand for...

We had a lovely holiday on Queen Elizabeth. We were fortunate that the weather was wonderful all twelve days of our cruise and everything else, including the ports of call and the food and entertainment on the ship were absolutely first class.

Escape from New York
By Tony Hickin on 09 November 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

We have recently returned from an Eastbound transatlantic cruise on the QM2, having left New York 45 minutes before the port was closed ahead of Hurricane (Storm) Sandy. First the good news – if you want to ride out force 11 weather (80mph + winds and big seas) you cannot do better than the QM2. With all the turmoil of leaving New York we settled down to a very civilised dinner, with just a bit...

Greek Isles & Ancient Wonders
By Kate Lister on 02 November 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Elizabeth Reviews

First cruise with Cunard, first impression of ship – gentille and gentlemen’s clubish, very relaxing style and plenty of quiet space. The food and service was excellent could not fault it. The entertainment was ballroom dancing every night, piano bars, string quartet, harpist, one good show most nights, quizzes, disco in a small club at the top of the ship, very formal. For me far too many pianos I would have like a little bit...

everything bar a kettle
By reginald wheeler on 31 October 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Elizabeth Reviews

Excellent BA flight to Athens and fair transfer to ship.Shocked to find no kettle in lovely cabin, apparently you are expected to ask for cabin service each and every time you fancy a cuppa.I quickly found a senior steward and explained that we Brits do expect such a basic amenity and have no wish to wait until room service can find a moment to deliver.A kettle was duly provided! The cabin with balcony was excellent and food...

Transatlantic East-bound
By john plews on 22 October 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

Queen Mary 2 is a genuine liner, not a cruise ship, hence a great way to cross the pond. Having done the same trip on QE2 we were used to the journey and we have not changed our minds, it’s THE way to come home from New York. The history panels around the ship were excellent, a real education in Cunard and trans-atlantic travel, the entertainment , like all ships these days was a bit...

Our Transatlantic Crossing
By Brenda Silverman on 16 October 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

Our amazing Trip started when we had our bags taken from the Taxi onto the docksideby the friendliest of Brooklyn Longshoreman named John. The ship was all I had expected and more. All the staff were exceptional from Pursers to Cabin Jack. I would wholeheartedly recommend this crossing on this liner. The only fault that we had was that the drinks were expensive anyway but to make you pay and extra 15% and still leave...

Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

Our voyage to New York on Queen Mary 2 was as our 11 year old son said “the best ever holiday”. We had travelled as a couple on the QE2 to New York many years before and loved the experience .We decided to repeat the journey this year on Queen Mary in order to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary although this time our young son Mark would be looking forward to an exciting trip. We...

Cruise First Timers
By Mark Harrison on 04 September 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

My wife has been trying to get me to cruise for the last few years. This year I capitulated and agred to go on a 5 day “taster”. From checking in to disembarking we enjoyed every minute. The food, service ,ship, and standards were fantastic. Although the weather was not very good it didn’t spoil any aspect of the cruise and we are already planning our next cruise. We picked Cunard simply because the itinery suited...

Below expectations
By John Clarke on 10 August 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Being fairly new to cruising – been on Royal Carribean and P&O ships so far – we booked a Med cruise on the Queen Victoria, expecting it to be first class. But in our opinion (and that of some of our fellow passengers), it wasn’t. OK, we went Britannia class, and on the Victoria the general service and standard of food in the main restaurant was below par. We only ate there for the first...

Our first cruise aboard the lovely Queen Elizabeth was to the Baltic and we loved every minute. The ship is beautiful, the cabins comfortable, the service impeccable and the food outstanding. We love the ethos aboard a Cunard vessel having sailed on QE2 and QM2 loving the traditional feel.We particularly enjoy Afternoon Tea in the Queens Room, the silver service accompanied by a harpist, pianist or perhaps a String Quartet. The talks are always excellent and varied.We...

By Bernard Taylor on 25 May 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Elizabeth Reviews

Tried Cunard for the 1st time after many cruises with P&O, Princess, & Thompson. The ship is great – layout, lovely decor, historical pictures, models of ships, etc. Food was very good and possibly slightly better than other lines mentioned above – but only just. Entertainment not particularly good, especially when compared to Thompson Cruises. However, Cunard did have some good films to watch in their magnificent theater. Overall, a great experience and if the...

Cunard Line | Queen Elizabeth Reviews

We had a wonderful cruise, made special by being in a AA club balcony cabin, enabling us to eat at times to suit us, without the cost of the grills suites. Service was friendly, and efficient from all crew, and wonderful service from Emmanuel and Dennis our waiters in the dining room. Ditno our cabin steward greeted us on arrival, supplied us with extra pillows, and our cabin was always cleaned on our return from breakfast....

world cruise 2012
By sandra ellis on 04 May 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Elizabeth Reviews

This is our second full world cruise on Queen Elizabeth and we were not disappointed. The stateroom (not cabin!) was adequate and the bed the most comfortable ever slept in. The balcony on deck 4 is larger than higher ones, though we had a metal front, which did not detract from our enjoyment of the outside space. The food was excellent. The menus were repeated slightly too often, but we only ate in the Britannia...

Great trip on Queen Victoria through the Panama Canal
By Nigel Tollit on 04 March 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Going through the Panama canal has been on our bucket list for some time, and an opportunity to escape the British winter was a great excuse to tick this one off the list. We have cruised half a dozen times before on a variety of ships, big and small, but not with Cunard. A smooth flight with Virgin into Miami, an efficient Cunard transfer to the Marriott Harbor Beach hotel in Fort Lauderdale for a...

Not quite 5*
By Carole Freemantle on 13 February 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Elizabeth Reviews

We had cruised about 9 times previously, mostly with P&O but also twice with Fred Olsen. We were booked on a 5 night cruise from Southampton with an overnight stay in Amsterdam and then visiting Zeebrugge and Le Harvre. Queen Elizabeth, like Queen Victoria, is a beautiful, elegant ship. We had lunched on Queen Victoria although not cruised, so we did know more or less what the layout of Queen Elizabeth would be. We have...
