We need not have worried, as the Braemar is still one of the most handsome cruise ships afloat. On boarding the Balmoral one is greeted with a very friendly welcome from very polite smiling staff. The ship has a bright modern feel that continues in many areas, all walls on staircases have bright ‘Tiffany’ style glass panels and carpets to reflect the same colours in patterns some passengers found it a little disorientating when ship in choppy waters. As we approached Dover we saw the ship and it looked medium sized, our luggage was taken by porters straight from the taxi and we went through to the check in area.This was a nice comfortable lounge serving drinks / snacks whilst you waited to embark.
