Southampton>Genoa 05/10/16

Generally satisfied with cruise. One criticism concerns the organisation particularly with regard to final disembarkation. This was amateurish with no noticeable notion of managing people flow in an orderly fashion (eg one-way system, in-door, out-door could all have been employed to improve the passenger experience). The disembarkation schedule was running 55 minutes late, so there was a risk of missed transfers in my case & I had to ask to be let off.

A splendid escape on SPLENDIDA
By Leonard Miron on 30 October 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Splendida Reviews

After 3 memorable experiences on MSCƒ??s ships was not at all a surprise that I decided to comeback. This time I was cheating on my first MSC love ƒ??Preziosaƒ? and choose, for a 9 day trip, her sister ship ƒ??Splendidaƒ? MSC introduced the luxurious Yacht Club — where passengers have their separate section of the ship, including a lounge, pool and restaurant — on Fantasia, when it debuted in 2008. Since then, the Mediterranean line...

Queen Mary 1945
By Deanna Winter on 03 October 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Preziosa Reviews

As I was writing my first cruise was on THE Queen Mary as a 3 year old with my mother who was a War Bride. When we settled in Canada it was on Wolfe Island Nr. Kingston, Ontario. My next encounter with ships was when my father and mother worked on the Kingston Ferry. This was originally one of the Woolwich Ferries. Dad was crew and Mum was cook. I was entertainment. Dad named me...

MSC Preziosa Mediterranean Delights

We boarded MSC Preziosa in Genoa, although with MSC you can board at any of their ports of call, Genoa is the main port for this cruise. We had spent the previous day in Genoa just wandering around enjoying the beautiful buildings and the marina. We left our B&B Domitilla and walked the 7 minutes to the cruise terminal. As we were in the Yacht Club, check in was smooth and quick and we were...

MSC Divina a perfect holiday for the family
By Philip Tingle on 29 September 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Divina Reviews

MSC Cruise on the Divina August 2015 Location: Mediterranean Length of cruise: 8 days Initial thoughts about MSC cruises I know that you may have heard from quite a few people that MSC are not the best cruise line and I must say I am guilty of being one of those people. I have been on the MSC Poesia years ago and my memories of that cruise were not that great, it was noisy, very...

MSC Splendida
By HEATHER FULLER on 22 September 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Splendida Reviews

We have just returned from MSC Splendida Northern Europe 7-14 September 2016. Having checked in very quickly we came to a halt on boarding from the gangway. There appeared to be only one gangway in use coping with passengers coming off and passengers getting on. We stood on the gangway for about 20 minutes. On handing over our cruise card to security it was found we had the wrong cards! We were subsequently escorted to...

A Great Cruise!!!
By Kirsty Thompson on 13 July 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Preziosa Reviews

From start to finish MSC really surprised me and was better than what I expected. Check in was great and really fast, we didnƒ??t have to hand over card details as you had to do this on ship via the stands they had around reception and all you had to do was swipe your room card and then follow the instructions. After checking in we went to find our cabin which was deck 12 at...

Never again with MSC
By Carol Laffan on 11 April 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Orchestra Reviews

My number one piece of advice if you are thinking of booking MSC is DONT . We have cruised about 20+ times previously so know what to expect .It helped to be experienced cruisers and know what we were doing ,but there is so little information in English . We never went to a Safety Drill ,no health declaration as you got on . No attention given to hand hygiene . Our Grand Voyage felt...

EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LININGƒ? – a luxury cruise with a lot of ƒ??BUTsƒ??ƒ?
By Leonard Miron on 22 February 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Splendida Reviews

The arrival and the embarkation had indeed a WOW factor. When the transfer bus stopped a butler was waiting for us already, he took care of our luggage and escort us to the special Yacht Club check-in area. A welcome buffet with some nibbles and Prosecco was waiting for us, the check-in formalities were quick and after that another butler escorted us straight to the ship passing all the lines and queues. We spend around...

MSC excellent value for money
By Sue Burns on 24 January 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Musica Reviews

I’m fed up of reading negative reviews about MSC. We have just returned from our 3rd cruise on MSC Musica and it represented superb value. We had a midship balcony cabin which was almost identical to balcony cabins on Princess and Royal Caribbean and for a week in the UAE we paid ?œ949 including Emirates flights from Manchester (booking a year in advance – last minute cruises were available at ?œ149 & BA or Emirates...

Cruise
By Stephen benstead on 10 January 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Musica Reviews

Well this has got to be the worst holiday iv ever had. Food was awful and cold. Not enough seats to sit once you’ve chosen your meal. Not enough cutely available. Staff very unfriendly unhelpful and rude. The staff on board this ship looked very miserable. No atmosphere especially on New Year’s Eve. Entertainment was awful unless your Italian. This cruise was more for Italians and not English. And should not be advertised to English...

If you are English do NOT use MSC
By Eric Stowe on 06 January 2016
MSC Cruises | MSC Orchestra Reviews

Appalling customer service, bad management, no one speaks English as first language. The food was same, same, same and cold/warm at best. The “entertainment” was dire apart from one guy who played to no one in the wine bar, Diego was his name. The Buffet was dreadful. They got nearly everything wrong and I am sending 3 page list of complaints to MSC. An example of breakfast service, salmon served last, cornflakes served at same...

Msc fantasia, great trip
By Chris Hignell on 18 November 2015
MSC Cruises | MSC Fantasia Reviews

Sailed 1st Nov 15, after transfer from airport, bags dropped, check in and photo!!! Drinking cocktails in 15 mins. Superb. The Allegrissimo drinks package at ?œ22pppn is a bargain, covering premium spirits, beer, wine, cocktails, coffee and ice cream. Fantasia has the wow factor in many areas, the Mdr was plush, lots of different lounges from quiet to lively. Very clean everywhere, and the ship seems well maintained. We had an outside stateroom, which by...

Our week on the MSC Splendida
By Val Hudson on 08 March 2015
MSC Cruises | MSC Splendida Reviews

This was our first MSC Cruise. It was very cheap compared to other cruises and the fact that we could have free wine, soft drinks or draught bears with meals was a real bonus. Both the wine and food were excellent, as was the cabin standard and the staff. However the information sent beforehand was extremely sparse. A search on the internet revealed second sitting which we had booked was at 9.30pm and first 7pm. We...

Fantastic Cruise
By Adrian Swindells on 25 February 2015
MSC Cruises | MSC Orchestra Reviews

Great staff. Really excellent ship with most facilities you would need. Food was ok but I’ve had better on other cruise lines. Cabin very roomy. Entertainment was ok but more geared to Italian people. The staff more than made up for any shortcomings. MSC could do a lot better with its information available before you join the cruise. Would I cruise with MSC again? Definitely.

Some good, some bad
By Anne Agar on 08 February 2015
MSC Cruises | MSC Orchestra Reviews

The good part, marvellous in fact, were the shore excursions and local guides who took us to incredibly interesting places, giving us fascinating facts about the history and culture. We learnt a lot. Good also was our cabin and balcony; also the food at the self-service restaurant. The bad part were several aspects of the ship we did not like. Dawn had informed us that the majority of the passengers would be Italian. We were,...

MSC Five star ship and service
By Jill Taylor on 24 January 2015
MSC Cruises | MSC Orchestra Reviews

Read quite a lot of reviews mostly negative regarding MSC Cruises, especially as we this was a last minute booking felt very apprehensive of what to expect…. All our concerns just melted away because this company is so professional and caring from the moment you stepped aboard to the disembarkation back to the airport. Quality of service, great friendly atmosphere, nice cabins, varied selection of food and spotlessly clean…..as for the shows, the entertainment was...

The Blck Sea cruise that wasn’t!
By Norm on 10 October 2014
MSC Cruises | MSC Orchestra Reviews

I had booked this Black Sea cruise 12 months previously mainly for the Black Sea itinerary and although the Ukrainian ports were cancelled before we went the Rumanian and Bulgarian ones were looked forward to as they were new to us. We had an early flight to Venice out of Manchester on Jet2.com and was in Venice by 1030.As my wife needed her wheelchair due to a knee complaint we were off the plane last...

What does this mean?
By David Riley on 01 October 2014
MSC Cruises | MSC Magnifica Reviews

The only negative is re the evening entertainment. If MSC wishes to break into the UK market, management need to gear entertainment more towards our culture and away from Italian. Other than that, our first cruise was a complete success. The ship and everything within was as it’s name implies ‘ magnificent’. Thank you.
