SUNNIER THAN THE UK!

Royal Caribbean International | Serenade of the Seas Reviews

First time on Royal Carribean having previously travelled with Princess, P & O and Celebrity. Ship was similar to other cruise lines, our cabin was very well soundproofed and comfortable. Staff in general were exceptional with the exception of some bar stewards who were unhelpful and lazy. Food was good but not fantastic, ports visited were good, Santorini was beautiful, one of the nicest places we ve been to. I was unfortunate to get the...

The luggage labels supplied by Bolsover’s were not accepted by the baggage handlers and ship’s staff. All luggage lables now must show the designated position of the cabin, i.e. port/forward etc. As a result of this, I joined other Bolsover clients on the dockside in a gale force wind to obtain the correct lables – we then had to stand there and fill them in. Ice skating shows were stunning. Food in the Windjammer Restaurant...

Splendour OTS was as expected – clean and comfortable, and, as expected, excellent staff. Drinks were also as expected – expensive – around $30 for the cheapest bottle of wine at dinner. And also as expected (as on most if not all cruise ships), they are out to part you from your hard earned cash at every opportunity, with excursions, paying extra to eat in restaurants other that the main dining room, and taking your...

Overall the cruise was good value and the itinery was good. Access on and off was quick esp on final arrival in Southampton. Never really crowded except party nights in the promenade. Facilities esp for youngsters were great. However it was clear that the line was cutting back. Charging to borrow poor condition beach towels, library books in poor condition; charging more for shuttle buses, even the toilet paper was nearly useless, no coffee in...

The ship was very good in all aspects, but it still grates that Royal Caribbean can be so petty in some things – they charge $3 for fresh orange juice. Why?! It just doesn’t seem worth it. Wouldn’t it be better to add a few dollars to the cost of the cruise and avoid the irritation? The dress codes were not policed, and the formal dining nights were not respected by everyone. I think it...

We fould the staff very friendly and the range of entertainment suitably varied, making the trip enjoyable. We preferred the restaurant to the buffet for both morning and evening meals as the quality and service were first class. The ‘Windjammer’ hot food could be a little below an ideal temperature. A problem that we had on board was eventually dealt with very effectivley, though it required a ‘positive’ request from us for action(something RC staff...

Loved the ship but….

Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

We went on the Independence as it was my birthday & we had a good deal. We were with another couple. Our 1st disappointment was when my partner enquired to put a birthday message in the daily newsletter. It would cost 25 dollars!!! I couldnt believe it; we all thought it would be complimentary. Next, the entertainment. I actually thought it was poor and a bit old-fashioned. There wasn’t enough variety. Once you had seen...

Despite there being such a huge number of passengers, getting on and off the ship was very well organized. We felt initially that not getting into our staterooms until aprox 3pm on the day of departure was a problem, but on leaving the ship it is so much better being able to stay in your staterooms until you leave and so this system does work best. The entertainment. gym food and meticulous hand cleanliness was...

The ship has to be seen to be believed! your first venture around the ship after unpacking is guaranteed to raise a smile, particularly when you first get to walk down through the middle of the ship on the street on deck five they call the Royal Promenade. It features an Irish style public bar along with most other street shops and cafe`s which are a great diversion at sea not unlike a night out on...

For such a very large ship it was incredibly easy to find your way about. The Royal Parade or Street as everyone calls it is amazing and helps define where everything is. Do not be put off by the number of passengers this ships crew cope brilliantly with everything from booking in to serving meals. The amenities are second to none including an ice ring, climbing wall, surf rider and even a 9 hole putting...

Wine and dine package

Royal Caribbean International | Brilliance of the Seas Reviews

Many fellow cruisers were SHOCKED at the price of wine per botttle. Wine packages for example Gold package – 5 bottles $155 plus 15% gratuity. Is this a sign of the times!!! The food lacked variety but there was more variety in the Windjammer than the Dining Room. Received excellent waiter service on our dining table 525.

Worst cruise experience
By Lynne Chapman on 13 March 2012
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

It began badly with having to queue for 4 hours to get on board due to sanitisation of the ship being carried due to the norovirus (we learned after our return home that 5 people had died on the cruise before). We were “lucky” – the majority of our queueing took place inside where at least we could sit on the carpet. Friends we were with had to stand outside for over 3 hours. (Passenger...

A lovely ship with a great cruise line but really not totally the best RCI has to offer. The only real complaint was that there was never enough lunch venues. Seaview only opened after lunch shortly before first sitting for evening meal (3.30 onwards) or too late for dinner (9.30pm). The menu now is terrible limited and the same carby generic food twice a day. Soarium cafe also didn’t open until 4pm onwards, again too...

This was our first cruise and enjoyed every moment. All the staff were courteous and helpful, the food was great and activities varied to suit everyone. During the trip there was an issue with a sickness bug doing the rounds but they promptly implemented precautions to alleviate this. Would certainly use Royal Caribbean again!

Had a fantastic time, the ship and staff were amazing. Already looking forward to cruising again and will be booking with royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean International | Adventure of the Seas Reviews

We travelled on the Adventure of the Seas from Malaga to the Canaries on a 5 night cruise. From arriving in the port and seeing the ship it certainly has the wow factor. The cabin was a fairly good size with a small seating area. The bathroom was very small and could have done with a little updating as it was quite dated in decor. The main hub of the ship is The Royal Promenade...

WOW WOW WOW!!!! The Allure Of The Seas is the most amazing spectacular ship I have ever seen. I was so privileged to go on the Allure and would recommend it to anyone. You never felt like you were on a ship and because of the open air feel to it you felt like you could have been anywhere other than at sea. It was an amazing experience and the 3 days which I had...

Independence of the Seas When reading cruise reviews I have found many featuring a great number of negative elements, which can be enlightening, so long as they’re taken with a pinch of salt and the understanding that they were probably written by people who are inherently extremely hard to please. My wife and I escaped the UK weather last December after securing an exceptional price reduction on Royal Caribbean ƒ?? Independence of the Seas ƒ??...
