Celebrity Eclipse – Canaries

Having cruised some 25+ times with most of the major cruise lines, we had never tried Celebrity.

Check-in at Southampton was very slick. Drive up to drop off point and cases taken from you. As Aqua-class was given a sticker on entering the terminal building and received ƒ??fast-trackƒ?? check-in and security clearance.

We boarded quickly and found our stateroom on Deck 11. It was very well laid out but short on drawer space. Our cabin steward ƒ?? Nazarus was excellent.

The d??cor of the ship is very understated and not at all ƒ??glitzyƒ??.
The clientele was mainly 50+ with hardly any children. This may have been due to it being school term time.

The shows were ƒ??first-classƒ?? ƒ?? Edge ƒ?? production show and Mike Doyle ƒ?? comedian/singer were particularly good.

The food served in BLU dining room (Aqua-class) was amazing and beautifully presented, always hot and very different and as good as a 5* hotel.

The only down-side to the cruise was the cost of drinks. A 14 day package worked out to over ?œ500 pp.! Wine by the glass in BLU cost between 8-10$ per glass.

On the whole a very good product and would definitely travel with Celebrity again but they do need to look at their drink prices for the UK market.
