Cruise to Lisbon, Tenerife etc. On the Eclipse, Sept/ Oct 2017

Our second cruise on the Eclipse and equally as good as the first. A little rough over the Bay of Biscay en route to Lisbon, luckily we were not affected but judging by the no shows for dinner quite a few were. Overnight in Lisbon which was lovely followed by Tenerife, Madeira and La Coruna, weather for cruise after the Bay was great. As for the ship firstly the pro’s, excellent staff, always happy to help you, lovely waiter in Emanuel and our state room steward Bryan, ship was very clean and even though I think the ship was sailing with full capacity not much queuing in the self service restaurant. Food in the main dining room was superb, as I remember it from last year, the waiting was spot on not feeling rushed but equally no long waits between courses, same applied to the sommelier, he knew just when to top up our glasses! The shows we saw were better than last year and I must commend Ed the director who was extremely friendly and certainly made his presence felt.
We were on anytime dining and met some interesting people during the cruise, dinner and the conversations around the table were one of the highlights.
Now the con’s not too many, firstly the muster station drill a total fiasco, we were on deck four near the shops and casino, the sheer number of people made it impossible to see the ,( small), screen or hear what was being said, good job there was no emergency, Celebrity need to address this and quickly. Secondly we were on the Classic drink package, nowhere on board could we find a list of what was included, we were told it was in the Celebrity brochure but who takes that away with them on holiday? A waiter in the Sky Lounge replied when asked the page had been removed from menu because there were mistakes on it and it was being reprinted! Really? It was a bit annoying when ordering, say, a cocktail to have to ask if it was included in our package. A minor niggle but one that could have been easily put right. Lastly, and I lost count of the people who commented on this, having bottled water in the state room that cost 6.50$ a bottle! Even the standard drinks package included free bottled water from bars and restaurants plus iced water was always available in the restaurant. Just do away with this it makes you look like you are penny pinching.
All in all though a memorable holiday and we arrived home so relaxed. Looking forward to welcoming the Silouette to Southampton next year.
