Honeymoon on Celebrity
julie richards | June 18, 2016 | Celebrity Cruises | Celebrity Equinox
In August 2011 we travelled on board the beautiful celebrity Equinox for our Honeymoon. Having spoke with other friends we kind of knew what to expect. Certainly the decor was very lush very modern, The equinox is the friendliest ship we have been on. The service we received was second to none.
The food was excellent. We love eating in the specialty restaurants and were not disappointed. Tuscan grill was as good as ever, Murano was as elegant as usual and bistro on 5 was delicious as usual. The only specialty restaurant we did not experience was the Silk Harvest. We mainly ate in the silhouette restaurant and had a table for 2 as we prefer a smaller intimate table. The service was great and the food was delicious.
There was many bars to choose from on this cruise compared to what we are used to. This was a benefit to us as it meant we could sit at the martini bar every time rather than struggling to get near the bar like previous cruises. The other bars were excellent too. The ensemble lounge had good entertainment on every night and Michaels club was nice for a quiet drink. The sky lounge hosted some fantastic parties all which was sponsored by ‘Sky Vodka’
The drinks package is a fantastic thing. We had the premium package and certainly got value from it. If it is true that you have to drink 6 drinks per day to get value, then the package certainly encouraged us to do just that. ( we were on holiday ) We pre paid this before we travelled and it cost ?380pp which sounds a lot but drinks are quite expensive too buy on board.
Cabin – we had a concierge balcony C3 Grade, was a lovely cabin and very spacious.
To summarise – If anyone is reading this before deciding to book an Equinox cruise the I would say that you will 100% love it, it’s clean, crisp, modern and will blow most other ships out the water (not literally though!) the ship is amazing and has something for everyone, service is 5 star and the passengers are international many from the states which is great as you get to meet other people from around the world.
