MEDITTERANEAN CRUISING ABOARD THE FANTASTIC CELEBRITY SILHOUETTE
ANDREW ERIC STOCKHAM | May 24, 2014 | Celebrity Cruises | Celebrity Silhouette
Just been on our very first cruise with Celebrity Cruises on board the Fantastic Silhouette. Booked the cruise with Tracey at Bolsover who was really knowledgeable and helpful leading up to the cruise with any enquiries we had. The staff on the Celebrity Team were extremely organised and at no point were we at a loss as to what we were doing (which was helpful as this was our first cruise), nothing was too much trouble.
On board the ship we were met with an extremely clean and tidy stateroom with balcony and we were impressed as to how large it was and how much clothes space there was for our things. Also lots of room in the bathroom for toiletries etc. The balcony, if you can afford it is a real plus point to the cruising experience – we relaxed on it every day. We had dine any time for the main dining room which was a great idea for a couple such as ourselves, who never know when we want to eat! The longest we had to wait for a meal was 20 minutes. The food in the main dining room was excellent – in fact it was so good we never considered going to the speciality restaurants, although we spoke to guests who claimed these were excellent also. The bars were many and we had to choose every night which one to go to. If you like a drink, we recommend the drinks packages, as it made the holiday stress-free and the drinks can be expensive when being added up at the end of your stay. Disembarking and embarking at the many ports was organised to a very high standard, and you always knew what you were doing. Also if you had booked a trip with Celebrity, these were very well organised as well, although if like us you like to see a country on your own, it is fairly easy to do this as well. If this is the case though, a tip is to not jump at the first tour operator you see, as there are better ones further down the road! To cut costs of taxis etc we shared the costs with other couples who were travelling on their own also. All in all we had an excellent time crusing on the Silhouette and would definitely do other cruises with Celebrity.
