Poor Organisation

We have been on many cruises, but this was the first with this cruise line. Celebrity Solstice is the most beautiful ship we have been on so far, and the most stable. However, it took almost 8 hours for a case to reach our stateroom from the quayside, and only after several enquiries on our part. There was no interest or apology from Guest Relations. The service from other staff was excellent throughout the cruise.
However, the organisation for getting us on and off the ship , from the embarkation in Perth to the disembarkation in Sydney, was accomplished in unbelievable chaos. The tendering arrangements were a disgrace, totally incompetent and sometimes dangerous. We all stood in queues for a considerable time in the hot sun or the pouring rain. Not enough tenders were used. Bali was beyond belief as Celebrity clashed with Indonesian Immigration in trying to cut costs, and every passenger, whether going ashore or not, had $25 added to their accounts to pay for a so called visa. As the need for a visa had not been previously notified this would seem to be a “backhander” and the morning had gone by the time passengers got ashore. There was the usual chaos in getting us back on board. Not enough tenders as usual and Indonesian ferries had to be used.
This cruise line was mainly concerned with penny pinching and making as much money out of the passengers as they could.
They couldn’t run a bus and we will never cruise with them again.
