Celebrity Cruises | Celebrity Constellation

By Paul Jackson on 11 September 2017

We have recently sailed on Celebrity Constellation and whilst we knew it was an older ship (but not long ago had a re-fit) we did not expect the level of ‘shoddiness’ particularly around the deck areas. However, our greatest concern is the trend to go ‘all inclusive’ with the ‘free giveaway on the Select drinks package and the upgrades to Premium packages’ no problem with the deal but to fund it they have reduced the staff to almost farcical proportions. Most bars have only one staff member trying to serve ‘three deep’ at pool bars and in the evening at the Cellar Bar, a wine bar outside the theatre again one member of staff not only trying to serve the bar but also the cruisers sat at tables in the bar – a shambles. The food in the restaurants is still of a high standard than P&O (in our opinion) but the new trend to go Elegant chic causes a great deal of irregularity. For example on ‘Elegant Chic’ night you can have Black Tie, smart casual, jeans and occasionally shorts at the same table – bizarre
