Queen Mary 2 Norwegian Fiords

If you have already cruised on either Queen Victoria or Elizabeth, then you may be disappointed with Queen Mary 2. We were because she didn’t quite meet our expectations, having previously sailed on Victoria. She is a beautiful ship but in our opinion, certain areas eg Commodore club, theatre, grand lobby were no where near as good as Queen Victoria. The cruise itself was very good, plenty of time in the places we visited. Entertainment was good though the films which were shown in the planetarium were nothing to write home about. Food in the Britannia restaurant was excellent but service was very poor and we had to leave after only two courses on two occasions as we wanted to see the late show in the theatre. Buffet food was good for those not on any special diets but was very poor for anyone on gluten free like myself. This, in comparison to Queen Victoria, let it down. Overall, the ship is really beautiful and our cabin which was just a basic, twin inner on a low deck was perfect, as was the cabin service. We would not have missed cruising on her as she is such an iconic ship and it’s something we wanted to cross off our wish list. However we would prefer to cruise on Queen Victoria or Elizabeth if we go with Cunard again, which we fully intend to. PS if you like Gala nights and dressing up then Cunard is the line for you!!!
