Cunard has lost some of its magic
John Rushworth | November 4, 2023 | Cunard | Queen Victoria
Being long standing clients of Cunard it has lost some of its magic. Yes a comfortable ship but Cunard don’t seem to be responding to the changing customer needs to make it something special. The bar service in the Commodore Club and Chart Room left a lot to be desired. Also the menu choice in the Britannia dining room (BDR) was disappointing. I am not a fussy eater, but some evenings I found the choice available restrictive, also there was a surfeit of mushrooms with everything. No problems however with the service in the BDR which was up to the usual excellent standard.
The priority check-in at Southampton was virtually non-existent. 55 minutes from arriving at check-in to reaching our stateroom, compared with 20 minutes on a recent Sky Princess cruise.
