Dining and entertainment were not up to normal standard.

P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Overall the cruise on Oriana was good despite the weather – not that P & O could do anything about that!! The ship was comfortable as usual and our balcony cabin spotless.

The only gripe I had was the very long wait for our meals to come in Freedom dining. We were later informed that the stewards were having to service 24 covers instead of the original 16. They were not happy either and it showed. Whether this is because P & O are cutting corners again or hoping that some members of staff will not renew their contracts, in the light of Oriana leaving the fleet.

The Entertainment is the same cruise after cruise. The cruise director should have retired years ago. His jokes were worse than the ones in Christmas crackers. Hope Arcadia and Aurora will be better next year.

  • We found exactly the same on our recent cruise on Arcadia. We found that the experienced waiters were coping but the newer ones were not. Consequently the waiting time for tables was longer, particularly on formal nights when more people were using the MDR. We have changed back to club dining for our next cruise on Ventura in February. We feel it is down to cost cutting as our room steward also complained that he was having to cover more cabins
