Arrived home on 11 November after a 19-day cruise around the western med on Oriana. We had a false start due to the illness of 2 passengers having to turn back to Southampton after travelling out to sea for 1 hour, then we had to wait for a new slot before we could set sail again.
Sailing across the Bay of Biscay was one of the smoothest crossings we have had, having said that the weather could have been better only 2 days for sunshine the whole cruise, 1 whilst on our way to Cartagena and the other one whilst in Malta.
The food as always was very good with plenty of choices and our waiters were first class, the entertainment, on the whole, was very good, but had seen most of the artists before except for a group called The New Amen Corner who was excellent. The Entertainment team apart from Hughie Taylor had a lot to be desired from other teams we have had before.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t dock in Civitavecchia, the port for Rome excursions, due to high winds. On our way back the Bay of Biscay couldn’t have been any different to going quite a swell for 2 days with decks being closed for passengers safety.
Staff on the ship were good and very helpful. There was 6 in our party and we all enjoyed, it despite the weather, can’t wait for our next cruise in January to Dubai.
