Have wanted to sail on this ship and do a transatlantic crossing for a long time. As it was my 60th birthday we sailed on the 18th November to New York.

It was not a disaster by any means, however, the experience was not what I had anticipated. The cabin fantastic, the staff were on the whole first class. The food was not we have experienced before with Cunard or as good as the two recent cruises with P&O in January and June this year. The choice of meals in the Britannia Restaurant was somewhat limited although what was chosen was fine. Very little fish on the menu!!

The deserts were a disappointment and a far cry from the offerings on P&O. A liner she might be, the elegance of the main rooms on board superb, but the service and availability of seating pre and after dinner in many of the bars etc very limited added to the high cost of drinks and of course the 15% gratuity with every drink including soft drinks and coffee became a barrier. The wines on the wine packages were also not the greatest but the prices were those charged for high-end fine wines.Why?

Overall the experience was not the greatest and fell short of what I was expecting.
