Our one week cruise started and ended in Malta. Flights from LHR via Air Malta were very good as was the greeting, transport to and from the ship and check in procedure.
The weather for the whole week was hot and sunny with a very calm sea. Our balcony cabin was large, comfortable and spotless. Our cabin attendant was friendly, polite and efficient.
We had opted for second sitting in the Adriatic restaurant on a table of 8. All good company. Table service was excellent but wine waiting was lacking in timing and efficiency. It took 15 minutes to produce the list of wine packages for the cruise. And when we had selected our wine and another 15 minute delay we were told that the wine selected was not on board!! An alternative was selected and was usually on our table each evening, to pour ourselves.
Food was OK but not to the high standard of previous P&O cruises.

Shore excursions were good and reasonably priced however the tendering operation on return to the ship was abysmal with only two operational tenders for around 2000 passengers on board and most shore goers returning late for the 15 minute ride to the ship. Water and towels run out at jetty!!
At Venice a ferry shuttle to St Marks square was provided (fee payable) We opted for a one way return ticket. Trying to find the pick up point was difficult. One P&O guy with a plastic chair and small sign (left on chair) in a sea of people boarding ferries and water taxi’s.
P&O arranged hotel in Valletta on our return was excellent. Great location for exploring the old city. Spacious, clean, great rooms & good food.
Would we recommend the package……….without a doubt.
We had the benefit of Veteran HM forces on board credit which we learn that the company have now decided to downgrade. Our loyalty to the brand has now been diluted. Happy sailing.
