Ryndam excellent

Our first time with HAL, having previously cruised with Cunard, P&O and Princess, which we rate in that order. HAL we consider to be equal in many areas to Cunard. The ship is very spacious and comfortable. Lounges were uncrowded, even though the ship was full and had 300 children on board.
We chose an oceanview cabin, as the trip to the fjords was only 7 nights. We left from Dover, where parking and check in were better than Southampton and our cabin was spacious and clean.
The food was excellent throughout, both in the Lido buffet and the Rotterdam restaurant, everything was well seasoned and beautifully presented.
The entertainment on board was very good, especially Adagio duet and the theatre cast and house band. My only grumble being over amplified, a common mistake by the sound engineers.
The ports were beautiful and so easy to access we did our own sightseeing, no need for expensive excursions.
The crew were charming, polite and attentive, without being pushy, even the photographers were restrained and there was no high pressure sales evident.
Will be looking for more HAL trips in the future, even though Ryndam will be sold in 2015 and the Norway cruises go from Harwich.
