Ryndham & Norwegian Fjords

We normally sail with Royal Caribbean and thought we would give HAL a try due to a tight schedule. Whilst the ship doesn’t look as splendid from the outside like the RC ships, we were pleasantly surprised with the food, accommodations and entertainment areas on board. The ship has a more classic than modern feel but we found the ship to be very cosy and comfortable. We were really impressed with the outside stateroom (A Deck 796) we had been allocated, it was a lovely large stateroom with plenty of storage space (hanging and drawers), and a flat screen TV. It had a bath with shower over, along with luxury Elemis products to include bath/shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser and soap. We found the entertainment on board to be probably one of the best we have had. The guitarist (Gary? I think) in the bar from 7-9pm was excellent, as were the entertainers Petrina Johnson – singer; Patrick McMahon from W Australia who was another guitarist and singer and who was also hilarious; and the ships own singers and dancers were also excellent. The food was really good and the service from everyone on board was excellent. Unlike the RC ships, the staff on board seemed to be more relaxed and didn’t once ask us to complete questionnaires about their service, nor were we continually bothered with having photos taken at every opportunity. All in all a completely relaxing experience. We certainly wouldn’t rule them out for future cruises. Only down side we were not too impressed with first two stop offs on this cruise, although Ulvik was fantastic.
