Disappointing cruise with Hurtigruten

We booked 12 round night trip cruise in June, flight with Norwegian was good but no one to meet you, as you have to find your way to the bus stop which was quite a walk. Bus runs hourly and one pulled empty and would not stop, waited 1 1/2 hours for the next bus. The check in at the terminal was awful and slow needed to collect a ticket, like a supermarket deli, but no one explained this and a lady in a wheelchair waited until the end with no assistance. We waited another hour and half to get on the ship as there were problems with gangway. No one on board to welcome you, you just find your own cabin. The cabin was an upgrade one but extremely small, looked at a suite but also small would have cost another £2,500 so didn’t bother. We were really looking forward to the food, buffets are good but so monotonous, salmon and shrimps three times a day a bit much. Evening meal set menu with no choice and nothing explained, never saw the restaurant manager, also slow service. The route became very monotonous and unfortunately had a lot of rain most days all day and then rough weather. I wouldn’t call this a cruise ship as it is really a ferry stopping and many ports but often for 15 to 30 minutes only. We did a couple of trips which were good but very expensive. After a week we got off and flew to Bergen, which was excellent and retrieved the holiday, but we were not scheduled to any times there. We have travelled with most cruise lines and this was the worst for service and comfort. I would recommend only a few days on these ships to get somewhere and then do trips. I would suggest the fjords are better done by larger ships with fewer ports of call.
