My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our Mediterranean cruise on Azura. We had very comfortable accommodation and excellent service throughout. We could not fault P&O Cruises and will definitely travel with the company again. We travelled with two children who took full advantage of the opportunities on offer.

  • You must have been on a different ship to me. As a seasoned cruiser I found the ship overcrowded with people packed together like sardines on the sunbeds. The food was not a patch on its usual standard. It was rather smelly around the main pool and not as well cleaned with refuse scattered all around. Most of the staff were excellent, but quite a few appeared fed up and ready for home. This cruise just did not compare to other companies and apart from the itinerary and entertainment fell far short of expectations. How long did you have to wait to get a tender to Elba? {2 hours for us} This was shocking.

  • “Shocking”? Really? Portoferraio is a small port with room for two tenders at a time. It’s a big ship. It was unlikely to be quick! The Horizon newspaper did ward us that it would be slow and what times would be the busiest, so they did their best. If it really was a two hour wait you were very unlucky. We got our departure raffle ticket towards the end of the predicted busy period and had to wait about 45 minutes, less than a quarter of one per cent of our holiday time – we could live with that.
I agree there were some “wiffy” moments, especially around deck 7 aft, they need to sort that out.
I thought was about par for P&O. People seem to forget 15000 meals per day, every day. I think they do brilliantly.
Scattered refuse is never nice, but the crew don’t put it there…
