A bit of a non event. A mini cruise to Brugge via Zeebrugge. Firstly we did not receive our coloured luggage labels or any information about any formal night which is normally enclosed in the itinerary booklet with the tickets usually sent directly from P&O hence we did not take any formal dress. It was a bit embarrassing when we found out that there was a black tie event on the second/ last night of the mini cruise.
We set sail and had our usual evening meal on freedom dining. The next morning we opened the stateroom curtains expecting to see us secured at Zebrugge but we were still at sea. We were informed that the pilot boat from Zeebrugge could not leave port as there were winds of force 8 and 4-metre waves the Captain informed us that as the pilots could not get to us we would stay in the southern North Sea about 35 miles east of Lowestoft. And we did until it was time to make our way to Southampton for disembarkation on Sunday morning. So we had another 3 hour trip home. A very disappointing weekend really a total waste of money and the stock in the onboard shops was equally disappointing.
We have completed many cruises with P&O but this was the poorest experience we have had. We will still cruise with our preferred operator P&O but we feel quite apprehensive for our upcoming
cruise in February. There was no mention of any compensation not even a free drink of any kind as an apology.
Arrived at Southampton after a three-hour journey. The car parking was easy to find and the staff were very helpful. We set off on
