Vibrant Jade

We travelled on NCL Jade in July 2008, it was a 2nt voyage sailing from southampton to bruges. I went with my partner and some friends. We booked up early and travelled in a mini suite cabin with balcony the balcony is small and there were two chairs and a small table.
This was our first experience of travelling with NCL
What an massive eye opener this was,it was almost the biggest surprise of my life (well almost).We embarked on the ship in southampton, we was greeted by the ships waiters with a nice refreshing glass of champagne it was extra nice as this was our FREE welcome drink! The ship is quite a big standing at 93,500 tons most of the time you would not even know you was on a ship ,so i settled in very quickly. The staff and crew are very welcoming they are so friendly and helpful,they cannot do enough for you ,

the food was excellent and plenty of it ,as this is an american ship as you can imagine the food choice was huge There is NO REASON to be hungry on this ship.
The service on tables in the evening at the main resturant was also first class ,the bar-staff again excellent ,the housekeepers did an amazing job everyday the cabin was spotless and always tidy,the entertainment was also a shock to me i was not expecting the standard of entertainment we received.World class entertainment from singers, dancers, comedians, stilt walkers and fire eaters from all around the world some of the acts were fantastic.
There is 13 bars and lounges, upto 14 dining options some there is a small surcharge for. We ate in Cagneys steakhouse which was $25pp they serve high quality steaks etc…the other speciality resturant which was always busy but we did not have time to try this was the Teppanyaki at $25pp
Room service was availible but we did not use this service.
Although that we did not use the childrens facilities, there was alot to do they had a separate kid’s pool, kid’s club, icecream bar and bowling alley.
NCL as a cruise product is brilliant i would recommend to anyone although it’s not to everyones taste, i enjoyed the whole experience, dis-embarkation ran smoothly overall a very good cruise!!!
