Cutbacks everywhere
J Fitzgerald | October 30, 2023 | P&O Cruises | Arcadia
We were on the 25 night Eastern Canada no fly cruise from Southampton. A well thought out and enjoyable itinerary despite the somewhat mixed bag of weather. Apart from the ports of call it was the customer facing staff in the restaurants and bars who lifted the experience above the reduction in choice/services everywhere on board. They were very welcoming and always cheerful.
Our last cruise with P & O was 6 years ago and the cutbacks since then are very noticeable including some that are pathetic and penny pinching. Perhaps Carnival are positioning the company as the Ryanair of cruise lines – low fares, no frills? Change the crest on the funnel to a harp and the image is complete.
We are sailing on Arcadia next year from Sydney to Dubai and unless there’s any improvement we won’t be booking or recommending P & O again.
