J222 Christmas Cruise

As the Captain said this was a challenging cruise 6 hours delay in setting off due to the wrong stores being delivered problems started at Oslo was -10 during the day -15 @night heating malfunctioned and couldn’t cope staff&travellers had to wear winter outdoor clothing round the ship for two days plumbing also froze resulting in leaks all over the ship then an out break of gastro enteroviruses resulting in emergency action ie wiping every thing down cabins, passageway, bannister. Amsterdam we had to leave early because of the weather forecast Zeebrugge was also abandoned on the excuse of the weather. We found out that there had been an outbreak of Covid on board ship I felt unwell on the 28/1/22 left the ship on 29/1/22 at 9am arrived home 12-30 pm tested positive with Covid as did my wife not one of PO finest hours. Staff on board did very well under the circumstances food was good entertainment from the headliners excellent it was quite obvious that P&O are struggling to get back to pre Covid standards.
