Brian Morgan | June 17, 2019 | P&O Cruises | Arcadia
We cruised on Arcadia for the first time & in an inside cabin as well. This was quite spacious & better than exoected. Plenty of wardrobe space. After leaving Southampton on 27th may and the Channel we encountered a fog bank which lasted until mid afternoon on the Monday. Seas were flat. Our first port was Bergen and not that large. We enjoyed the ride up the finicular railway and the views. From there we sailed to Geiranger but unfortuantely our booked shore excursion had to be changed due to a threat of avalanches. However what we did do was really spectacular and well worththe cost. A very small town. then onto Olden which was even smaller and here we tied up at the pier and walked to the the village. The fjords are very deep &steep mountains. Our last port was due to be Stavanger but due a strike we could not have a pilot so were diverted to Zeebrugge. However as we have not visited Ghent before we were able to do this so all was not lost. The Arcadia is all adult passengers, the food & service was very good and enjoyable. the entertainment was for the main good though we did not like the last comedian. So go on this cruise.
