Ticking off the bucket list
Neal Potter | October 27, 2023 | P&O Cruises | Arcadia
We booked this cruise quite late and you warned us that the Arcadia’s cabin G104 had a noise problem but we took it anyway. We were half unpacked when we realised that the noise was too much. We reported the problem and they moved us to a luxury balcony cabin.
The outgoing journey was very bad through storm Agnus. The cabin rattled very badly for four days.
Having travelled to 97 countries (including much of Canada) we came on this cruise to specifically see Québec City which was fabulous -as was Halifax, Charlottetown and St Johns. As for the rest – Sept Isles, Saguenay and Sydney, I can only think that P&O have been forced to stop there by the Canadian authorities as they were dismal places (especially Sept Isles) and no self respecting travel agent would choose to go there.
P&O continue (over 23 years) to sell some very poor trips: trips where there is nothing to see and always blame the local agents.
The standard on P&O continues to decline. The choice of food in the MDR was not so good and we were informed by several managers that ‘the company’ have removed many drinks from the bars which was annoying.
We came across a new Entertainments’ Manager Andy Jones who was, by far, the best one we have encountered in 23 years with P&O.
The theatre shows were excellent.
We have booked, through you, our third Grand Voyage in January and judging by recent promotions we could have had a much cheaper cruise by booking later. So we will not be booking early again. If you could get us a balcony upgrade for £500 we would be grateful!LOL.
We seem to have run out of ports with P&O and will be looking to a holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia in Jan 2025.
