A lovely cruise to Spain, Sicily and Greece aboard the good ship Aurora.
A shame that Rhodes was substituted for Messina due to operational reasons but nevertheless Messina is a lovely city in its own right and easy access to Taromina, which is simply a must if you have not visited previously.
We decided to take the local coast train in Malaga and an hour later we arrived in Fuengirola and undertook a marathon coast walk to Torremolinos to rejoin our train after 12 miles of scenic stomping, phew.
Thoroughly recommend a trip to Spinolonga from Crete, this being in Elounda bay and a former leper colony, likewise a short trip over to Delos from Mykonos is worth considering, especially for all the history buffs amongst you.
Shame we missed Gibraltar on the way home but understandable considering the incoming storms which left Aurora rocking and rolling in high seas and gale force 10 winds which meant a 8.5-9.5 sea swell in parts and 5 straight days at sea.
The weather would never put us off cruising BUT hopefully it will be kinder to us next time.
