Overall we enjoyed the cruise and the ship.
However, there are certain points that P and O need to seriously re-consider and act upon:
We were on Freedom Dining and purchased a wine package, to our consternation we then discovered that part bottles of wine could not, as in the past, be retained by the Medina restaurant for the next evening. They had to be taken out of the restaurant by the passenger. I asked the restaurant manager for the reason and was told that previous passengers had complained of wine being lost, not at the same level as when left, being given the wrong wine. Whilst the cause is understandable the solution is not. For what is claimed to be a 4* ship, this is not the solution. Try doing a risk assessment of a passenger carrying two part bottles of red and white wine. The current system is unseemly and not what is expected from a company claiming 4* service. There must be a better way than this.
P and O have stopped the Port Talks and the Port Presentation Literature which introduced passengers to their ports of call. Although you can see the new versions of the Port Presentation Literature on the P and O website, you cannot see then on-board, unless you purchase the very expensive and totally unreliable internet package. The free ‘myholiday’ app on-board is an ideal way to show the Port Presentation Literature. The Port Talks should also be reinstated.
The ‘myholiday’ app could be expanded to cover many more subjects, it needs a total review.
