Enjoyable trip

Have just come back from the whole world cruise on aurora. The trip was most enjoyable although aurora is looking a bit tired. She is going in for refit at the end of the year, long overdue. The food was very good with a lot of choice on the menu. We ate in pennant grill one evening and although good felt it was a ‘con’ as you had to pay a supplement for nearly all the main courses . We also ate twice in the evening at cafe Bordeaux and the menu didn’t seem to have varied since we were last on her in 2012. The entertainment over the whole cruise was very good apart from a couple of acts and there were often two different shows in an evening. The Ents worked very hard and Michael Mullane was the best cruise director we have had. We met a lot of lovely people but unfortunately a lot of moaners as well. We had captain Vigo until Singapore and then captain Turnbull. Although captain vigo was always around the ship when he came on every day it was very hard to understand him. Most of the ports were very interesting although a couple were dire. There are rumours that p and o will be charging for shuttle buses in the future. This will add a lot to fares as most of the ports are in the middle of nowhere! Obviously another way for p and o to get money.

Although we enjoyed the trip things don’t seem to be improving on the p and o ships. The management of the company do not seem to appreciate their loyal customers. In fact a lot of passengers were saying they intended to sail with other companies in the future. This is a shame because they used to be a good brand.
