far east cruise
dorothy mawby | July 2, 2016 | P&O Cruises | Aurora
Mixed review. The weather was very cold and smoggy for the first 11 days. We only saw the bottom half of Hong Kong, it was shrouded in thick damp cold mist. The ship was difficult to negotiate around, everybody kept getting lost as it is not possible to walk from one end to the other on all the decks, you have to go up or down and then along and up or down again, very wierd. The entertainment was poor, we had third rate singers non stop, one show and one comedian. Nothing in the other end of the ship at all, we only had evening entertainment in the theatre, apart from some piano playing in the playhouse. The food and service were excellent. The spa is ridiculously expensive, they were always touting for clients. It would have been nice to have had more time to relax in a pretty resort with reasonable shops. We only ever went to peasant markets in every city. It was very difficult to shop if you were on a tour unless they took you to a expensive factory tour or the scruffy markets for junk!
